IVNA Congress: Over and Out

The IVNA Congress is over for another year and as usual the committee and Diane did a great job organising it. This was our first year as exhibitors and hopefully we will be back next year.

Friday evening saw Bryan and I unpack our cars and set up the stand for the following morning. Our marketing department did us proud with the amount of merchandise they sent over from Bellshill. We had lots of posters for the practice on radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy which proved very popular. If anyone didn’t get some, they can contact us, and we will be happy to send them out. We also had water bottles, insulated coffee mugs which all veterinary nurses need filled to keep going during their busy days.

Competition Fun

We had 2 competitions running during the exhibition.

The first one was for a place on our Veterinary Nurse Ultrasound Online Course. We were offering one place at the congress but there was also a second chance to win this course as it was running during May to celebrate Veterinary Nurse Awareness month. The lucky winner is Jane Wade.

The second one was for a hamper of IMV goodies and some gin, prosecco and chocolates. This competition was for nurses to show their skills with our handheld ultrasound scanner the V-Scan Air. We had an ultrasound phantom which held multiple objects which the delegates had to count. We had marbles, dice, a water filled balloon and a toy zebra to be found in the phantom.

The winner of this was a student nurse from TUS Melissa Clarke. Melissa was closest to the correct answer of 13 round objects (marbles), 7 square objects (dice), 1 fluid filled object (balloon) & 1 mystery object (zebra). The objects were placed in 2 layers of agar, as you can see in the pictures.

Round up

It was great to catch up with nurses from practices from around the country, some who know us well and some who we hope will think of us if they are looking for new equipment or service of existing equipment or for consumables. We would be delighted to speak to anyone with enquiries about what we can offer.

With the last coffee break over it was time to pack up our stand until next year.
