What happens during a service and is it a good idea to have one?
Regular servicing and cleaning prolongs equipment life
Did you know there are over 40 individual seals and o-rings that go into the construction of an immersible endoscope? Over time, seals can suffer from wear and perish from becoming dry. Glues, o-rings and rubbers will perish and need to be replaced. Failure to do so can harm the instrument. The distal end of the instrument is designed to be flexible. However, it also needs to be resilient enough to withstand the harmful chemicals and acids.
The benefits of regular servicing
Like all high grade medical and veterinary equipment, endoscopes require regular servicing as well as routine maintenance. Regular servicing of your endoscope can disclose wear and tear and faults on your equipment before they become a major problem. It is very important that you have your equipment serviced regularly. Regular servicing will save you money and help with quicker, more accurate diagnoses.
